Muck Is All Good? Jolly Phonics · Step 2, Unit 3: ck as in duck
Practice Words
Skel has a brick house. He mops it and dusts it at sun-up. 'A brick house must not get muck in it,' said Skel. Zom sulks. 'Muck is all good,' said Zom.
Skel hands Jack a mop. Jack lets it drop. Clack! Skel hands Jack a cloth. Jack lets that drop as well. Jack shrugs and grins. 'Mops are not for me,' said Jack.
Skel looks at the muck on the planks. He grips his broom. He is mad. 'I quit!' said Skel. 'Zom and Jack can keep the muck. Good luck!'
Zom and Jack flop in the yard. Not a mop. Not a broom. Not a job to do. Both kick back in the sun and grin. 'This is the best,' said Zom.
Soon thick muck sticks to Zom's feet. The house has a bad stink. Zom looks at the muck and grins. 'It is all good!' said Zom.
It is not all good. Wee pests run out from a crack. Lots and lots! Tap, tap, tap on the planks in the dark.
Zom needs a snack. He grabs at his pie on the counter. But pests hum and zip on it. 'Get back!' said Zom. 'That pie is for me!'
Jack picks up his cloths at last. Pests rush out from a crack in the planks! Jack gets a big shock. He steps back and back. 'Not me! Not me!' said Jack.
The pets hunt the pests. But the pests flock on the planks. A big pink pest sits there as if it is king. Zom looks at Jack. 'We need Skel,' said Zom.
Skel is back, with a big grin. 'Muck is all good, is it?' said Skel. 'Come on. We all help. Not a slacker in this house!' Zom grabs a mop. Jack grips a cloth. Not a thing drops.
