Drip, Drop, Don't Stop! UFLI Foundations Lesson 78
Practice Words
Drip, drop! The rain falls and falls. Kim grins in the storm. 'Drip, drop, don't stop!' says Kim. A frog sits in the wet grass. 'This storm is the best,' Kim tells the frog. 'I love the rain!'
The rain falls off the home top. Splash, splash! It fills the big bucket. Drop by drop, the bucket gets more and more full. 'Look!' calls Kim. 'We can catch it all before it stops!'
Inside, Mom sits with the sitar. She sings a song for the storm. Strum, strum, tap, tap! The rain taps on the home top. 'The rain can sing,' says Kim.
Kim runs home in the rain. Then Kim stops on the path. What is this? It has grand plumes, and it will not hide from the storm. Kim claps for it. Then Kim runs the rest of the way home.
Mom has a hot dish for the kids. Sniff, sniff! It smells so nice. The black cat wants more of that smell. 'Wet days are best for a hot dish,' says Mom. Kim nods and nods.
Then the storm ends. No more drip. No more drop. Kim steps into the garden to explore. All the plants shine with little drops. 'The rain left this for us,' says Kim.
Kim visits the big plant with pink dots. It is so tall and strong. All that rain supports it and helps it. One last drop falls on Kim. 'Drip, drop,' says Kim. 'Don't stop!'
