Can Pang Complete the Tune? Jolly Phonics · Step 2, Unit 6: long vowels
Practice Words
Pang stands on the platform with his stick. He must start the tunes at the big concert. 'I can do this,' he tells the tree. 'I think.'
The tunes confuse the song gang. One bug asks, 'Do I sing deep or up top?' Pang points at the date chart and yells, 'Just five to go!'
One little bug sings so soft. It is as if he is mute. 'Sing loud and be proud,' Pang tells him. 'Nobody will be upset. They will clap and clap.'
'Come to the platform!' Pang calls. 'This is the last test. Sing the theme from the top!' Bugs zoom in from all sides. Pang hopes they can do it.
The tunes are sweet and true. The deep songs go deep. The top songs go up top. Pang grins. 'This concert will be grand!'
Pang can not sleep. 'If I slip? If I drop my stick?' he asks his cute bee doll. The doll can not chat back. But Pang chats on and on.
Here come the bugs! Snails creep in. Bugs rush in to get the best spot. 'I assume this will be grand,' a bug tells a snail. 'I hope so!'
Pang lifts his stick up. 'Sing!' he yells. And they sing! The tunes roll out across the grass. It is perfect.
Drip, drop! Rain! Rain at the concert! These raindrops splash on the song books. The songs crack and fade. Pang is in shock.
The bugs panic. A snail tucks in his shell. A stampede will end the concert! Pang zooms up and yells, 'Stop! Look up here!'
'This rain is just a fluke!' Pang calls. 'It will pass. The concert will go on!' The bugs clap. Rain shades go up. 'Sing!' Pang yells.
The rain stops. The tree shines with a lamp string. The concert is complete! 'Best concert ever!' a bug tells Pang. Pang grins a big, proud grin.
