Yank That String! UFLI Foundations Lesson 53
Practice Words
Pip is a small mouse. He sits up on the sill and checks for a cat. No cat yet! What luck!
Pip hops on the desk. He spots a long thing and grabs it. Tug, tug, yank!
Pip chomps the long thing. Crunch! Zap yells and yells at Pip.
"I am a mouse!" says Zap. Pip squints and thinks. That is not a mouse!
Zap can click and click. "I can help!" brags Zap. Pip is not so glad.
Pip wants a snack, but Pip smells a big cat. Zap is smug. Zap can help with that cat.
Thud, thud, thud! It is the cat! Pip yells for help.
The cat swats at Pip. Pip jumps and runs. "Quick, Zap, quick!" yells Pip.
The lit box lets out a big ruff, ruff, ruff! What a shock for the cat! It runs off fast, and Zap grins.
Pip hugs Zap and grins. Zap is such an odd thing, but Zap is the best mouse yet.
