Every morning, Dad climbed onto his big green bike. 'See you tonight, sweetheart!' he called, going down the road. Tonight felt countless hours away. Girl sat sadly on the sidewalk and pushed her tiny toy bike slowly along the ground. 'I'm coming, Dad,' she whispered softly. 'I just need something faster.'
A scooter! Girl held on tightly and zoomed down the road, fearless and proudly grinning. Up ahead, a blue car rolled along, but it kept pulling away. 'Hmmm,' said Girl. 'I need something with an engine.'
I cannot wait until I am a driver. I will be able to go where I want to. What is that next to me? A bright green bus!
Here I am driving the bus! A bus can move a lot of people. There are some roadworks ahead. I see a digger as I drive past.
The digger is big, and I pull the levers proudly as it rolls slowly across the grassy field. A man on a jet ski spots me and shouts, 'Is that kid driving a digger?' 'Yes!' I yell back. 'It is lovely, but kind of slow!' He looks at the digger, and I look at the jet ski. We have the same plan at the same time.
We swap! The man has a ride on the digger while I have a go on the jet ski. The jet ski is super fast. I will use it to get to that boat.
The boat smashes over the waves, faster and faster with each splash. I hold on tightly and shout loudly into the wind. Then, far away, I see a big ship that can sail across the whole world. My heart thumps hard. That is where Dad is!
I got to the big ship! This is where Dad works. I stand proudly at the wheel next to him. I made it all the way here!
A scooter, a car, a bus, a digger, a jet ski, a fast boat, and one mighty ship. That makes seven rides, zero giving up, and one fearless girl. So tell me. If you had to chase someone all the way across the world, which one would you pick? Which would you ride first?
