Ada Sees a Trace UFLI Foundations Lesson 60
Practice Words
This place is red sand. The bad hag Dhegdheer stands on the hill, and she has one big flap.
Mum is not at home. Ada glances at the sand, and she can trace a big step.
Ada runs to Nuur. 'Take this pod,' he says. 'It is a chance to save Mum.'
She walks at a fast pace on the flat white salt. All steps ring in this wide place.
She glances at the den. Mum is shut in a stick pen, and the bad hag naps.
The kid tugs at a stick. Crack! She winces. The big flap flips up, and the bad hag wakes.
She runs fast, but the bad hag chases. It is a bad race, and the kid has no chance.
Ada chucks the pod on the salt. Click, clack, click! The bad hag chases the click clack, but the kid is safe in this place.
The kid rips a big gap in the pen. She grabs Mum's hand, and all the mums, dads and kids race off.
The bad hag yells and runs back at a fast pace. A man slips and falls, but the kid dashes back to him.
Ada stamps and stamps on the salt. It is a big mad dance! Tap, tap, bang! The bad hag winces and grabs the big flap, and then she runs off to the hills.
Mum is back home, and all is well. The kid, Mum and Nuur sit and sip in the sun. It is a nice place to be.
