The white buffalo are very special. It is a joy when one of them has a new calf. Abi looks after him and names him Kobi.
It is Abi's job to keep Kobi clean and happy. He sings him a nice song while he gives him a bath to get him ready. Tonight there is a celebration parade.
It is a New Year festival. Kobi is one of the main attractions in the parade. He is the centre of attention. The lights are bright and people line the streets and cheer.
Abi has brought some of the special grass Kobi likes to help steady him. He might still be a baby, but he is a good size and could hurt someone if he got out of control.
Kobi is very popular. Everyone wants to get a look at the new white calf. There are flashes as the crowd takes photos. A parade is very noisy and bright.
Some of the children rush out to touch Kobi. He doesn't like that. They are not calm and quiet like Abi. Abi has to keep the kids away while keeping the white calf under control.
Half way through the parade, they are already tired and fed up.
Then Abi smells the food in the stalls. He was so busy getting Kobi ready, he forgot to have lunch. He is tired and hungry and thinks he can duck away for just a moment to get something to eat.
While he is gone, Kobi starts to search for Abi. He gets too close to the people watching the parade. One of the children reaches out to grab his tail. Abi comes back just in time.
He sings to Kobi, the white calf, and calms him with his voice. He feeds him the sweet grass that the buffalo really likes. Kobi sways his big head and cuddles close to Abi.
They have both had something to eat and feel better now. They are able to finish the parade through the streets. Soon they will both sleep a heavy sleep after a big day.
