Life down on the ground goes on while the cuckoo looks.

The cuckoo is mad. It flies up and tries to let out a squawk.

The rains come. The cuckoo must stop its search and stay safe.

The rain made things grow! There are a lot of bees. It must be spring.

The cuckoo cracks open his beak and lets out his call! It came on the heels of spring.
