Practice Words
Miss Star is in the dance hall in the morning. She has a cane. Tap, tap! The girls dance and spin. 'Jump more!' calls Miss Star. 'Turn more, girls, turn more!' The girls smile. But Miss Star has a secret.
What is her secret? Miss Star is a girl who dances in the dark. She swings on the lamp post on the path. She dances past the clock and the bridge. The stars shine far up in the sky.
Miss Star has a partner. He is fast, and she is faster. 'So fast, Miss Star!' he says. They perform on the stage, hand in hand. They dance as one. The people gasp.
Miss Star packs her case and sets off. She jumps far, far over the world. She dances on stage after stage. The fans clap and yell for more. She is a star all over the world.
But being the best is hard work. Miss Star dances in the dark, past the clock, under the stars. Her arms hurt. Her legs hurt. 'More, more,' she whispers. 'Do not stop.'
Then the big, big event starts. Miss Star and her partner perform one last time. Her partner holds her up under the gold lamp. Clap, clap! 'More!' yell the fans. 'More, more!'
The purple lamp shines on Miss Star. Red roses fall by her slippers. She smiles a soft smile. She is the best dance star in the world. All her hard work is worth it.
Miss Star is back in the dance hall. The girls twirl and pose. A girl asks, 'Did Miss Star dance on a big stage once?' Miss Star winks. She taps her cane. Tap, tap! The girls giggle.
