He sets one foot by the wall and sneaks a look. Nib sits inside with her wool in her nook.
The beast jams his face at the window with a boom! Bits of glass and wood zoom past Nib in the room.
The beast reaches in and grabs Nib with a swoop! She grips her wool tight as they fly in a loop.
The beast took Nib up a tree. But her plan is good. She drops her red wool down through the wood.
'Look at the red wool on the track!' say the boys. 'It will lead us to Nib and back!'
The red wool leads the boys up to a dark cave nook. They step inside, on the trail the wool took.
The troll snoozes deep inside his nook. One boy grabs the key with a quick look!
The boy turns the key with a soft click. The kids wait inside. They must be quick!
The gate swings wide and the beast wakes with a hoot. 'That's my food!' he yells, and the kids must scoot!
The red wool snags the beast like a fish on a hook! He tips and falls down with a boom, just look!
Nib grins with pride. Her smart plan was good. 'Lock the door next time, Nib. You know you should!'
