Give It Back! UFLI Foundations Lesson 68
Practice Words
Ben and Brother begin a big fuss. 'It is mine!' Ben yells. He tugs the animal. 'Let go!' Brother demands, and he pulls back. Not one of them will let go.
Crash! Stuff is broken on the mat. Mom is mad. 'Go to bed at once!' Mom says. Brother drops his chin and sulks.
Ben sits in the grass with his small rig. 'I wish one thing could belong to just me,' he says. The rig is all he has.
Then Ben sees a big, big thing in the grass! Ben hops up on its back and rides. 'Hold on!' Ben says. What an event!
They go past big, open land. It is so silent. Just Ben, and no fuss. Then Ben spots Brother. He sits by a tree in the grass.
Then a big mad one runs at Brother! Stomp, stomp! It is a titan! 'Run, Brother, run!' Ben yells. Brother runs as fast as he can.
Brother is quick! He gets up the tree. He grips a branch and sits still. He is frozen up there. 'Brother must not fall,' Ben says.
'Go fast!' Ben yells. They gallop and gallop. Ben has one focus. He must get to Brother. 'Hold on, Brother!' Ben calls.
The mad one tugs the branch. Crack! The branch could snap at any moment. Brother grips it and gasps. 'Stop that!' Ben yells.
Ben gets up on a branch. He lifts his hand up to Brother. 'Grab my hand!' Ben calls. He must protect Brother. Just a bit more!
The trunk grips Ben and lifts him up! His legs kick and kick. Even so, Ben thinks of Brother. 'Brother must be safe!' he sobs.
'Wake up, Ben!' Mom says. Ben blinks. He is safe in his bed. Brother is there, and Ben grips his hand and will not let go. 'Have my rig, Brother,' Ben says. At last, he can relax.
