Do Not Go In UFLI Foundations Lesson 70
Practice Words
Fig Pig grips his ax and his lamp. 'I will dig and get black rock!' he says. He trudges into the dim mine. He is not in a panic. Not one bit.
The path opens up wide. Lamps are lit on the walls, and tracks run off into the dark. 'They made all this,' says Fig Pig. 'And then they left it.' He trudges on past the tracks.
A chest sits at the edge of the path. Fig Pig inspects it. Cash! And a blade! 'I will just take this blade,' he says. 'It will keep me safe.' He grips it and does not budge for a bit. Then he walks on fast.
A huge web! A big bug naps in the web. Fig Pig must dodge past it. Step, step, step. He dodges the thick strands. The bug does not budge. Go, Fig Pig, go!
The path ends at a ledge. Hot red rock pops in the pit. Fig Pig steps on the thin track at the edge. 'Do not look in the pit,' he says. He looks in the pit. Gulp!
Fig Pig dashes from the mine. Then he spots a red note by the exit. It says, 'Stop! Do not go in!' Fig Pig yells. He does not trudge. He runs and runs! He did not get black rock. But next time, he will check the red note, and then go in!
