Just three colours can make a whole lot more. They are called the primary colours. Red, blue, and yellow are primary.

Red is a strong, powerful colour. We call it a hot colour. Think of hot, red things like lava.

Yellow is a warm colour, too. It is more moderate. Think of warm things like the sun on a pleasant day.

Blue is a cool colour. Think of swimming in a wonderful, clear blue lake.
