On the left side of the image, Sister, Girl, and Boy stand together outdoors, gazing up at the sky with expressions of wonder. Boy stands slightly in front, extending one hand outward as if pointing or waving at the cloud figure above. Girl stands between the other two, looking upward with curiosity, while Sister stands behind them, gently resting a hand on Girl's shoulder. Above them in a bright blue daytime sky, a friendly human-shaped cloud figure with a smiling face appears to wave down at the group. The right side of the image is plain white background.

'Look up there!' yells Max. Sister and Girl look up as well. A big cloud man is far up in the sky. He waves at them, and Max waves back.

Page 2
On the right side of the image, Sister, Boy, and Girl are lying and sitting in a grassy field on a sunny day, gazing up at large white clouds drifting across a blue sky. Sister is lying on her back with her face turned upward, looking content. Boy is propped up on his stomach with his legs kicked up behind him, watching the sky with a curious expression. Girl is sitting upright, leaning forward slightly, gazing up at the clouds with wonder. The scene is set outdoors in an open suburban-area field with dry golden grass, scattered trees in the background, and a bright daytime sky with billowing clouds. A group of small meerkats stand upright in the tall grass on the left-center background, watching the children. A lizard sits on a rock in the lower-right corner.

The kids flop in the grass and look up. But the cloud man is not there now. 'Perhaps he is shy,' says Girl. So they rest in the grass and look at the sky.

Page 3
On the left side of the image, Sister is dancing joyfully at a three-quarter angle facing the viewer, with one arm raised toward the sky, doing a jig in an open grassy yard in a suburban American neighborhood setting. She has an excited, celebratory pose with her body mid-movement, wearing her light blue hoodie with white drawstrings and her bright red headband tied in a bow. Above her in the blue sky, two cloud-shaped figures — a man and a woman — appear to be dancing and leaping together among the clouds. A tree stands to the far left. A small kitten is visible near Sister's feet, appearing to follow along with her dance. Two additional small animals are near the tree on the far left.

The cloud man is back, and a cloud lady is with him. They do a jig in the sky. Sister hops up and twirls in the yard. A kitten twirls with her.

Page 4
On the right side of the image, Boy sits in a grassy field, one arm raised and pointing up at the sky, gazing with wonder at large cloud formations shaped like men with their arms raised as if singing. The scene is set outdoors on a bright, sunny day in an open meadow with scattered trees and gentle hills in the background. The cloud figures dominate the right-center sky, their arms lifted dramatically. Two or three small birds are on the ground near Boy.

The cloud man and the cloud lady sing. Max sits in the grass and jabs his arm up. 'What a big song!' he yells. The birds perk up as well.

Page 5
On the left side of the image, Sister, Boy, and Girl are dancing joyfully on a flat, open dirt ground, facing the sky with their arms raised. Boy is in the middle pointing upward, Girl is to his right dancing with arms outstretched, and Sister is furthest right mid-dance with her arms up and one leg lifted. Above them in the sky, a band of cloud figures shaped like musicians can be seen — some appearing to play instruments and raise their arms, with smiling faces formed in the clouds. All three characters have excited, happy expressions as they dance to the cloud band's music. Two small meerkats are visible on the ground near the children — one on the far left and one between the children, both standing upright on their hind legs.

Now a full cloud band is up in the sky. Bang, bang, bang, go the drums! The land hums under the kids. Max, Girl and Sister jig and twirl on the dirt.

Page 6
On the right side of the image, Girl, Sister, and Boy stand together in a suburban yard looking up at the stormy sky with expressions of awe and wonder. Girl reaches one hand outward toward the rain, Sister clasps her hands together nervously, and Boy points upward at the dark clouds. Heavy rain pelts down around them as a massive spectral figure of a drummer materializes in the swirling storm clouds above, beating a drum — the source of the thunder. A large tree stands behind the children on the far right, and a lightning strike is visible on the distant horizon at left. The left ~40% of the image is open stormy sky and rain-soaked ground, clear of characters. Two small orange monkey-like creatures stand at the children's feet.

The drummer bangs harder and harder. The sky turns dark, and a big storm starts. Crack! Drops fall and fall. Girl lifts her hand, and the drops smack it.

Page 7
In the lower half of the image, Girl, Boy, and Sister are running from right to left through heavy rain toward an open doorway of a house, which glows with warm golden light. Girl is in the lead closest to the door, arms outstretched and smiling excitedly. Boy is in the middle, running with a determined expression, arms pumping. Sister is at the far right, also running urgently toward the house. The scene is set outdoors at a dark, stormy time with diagonal rain streaking across the image and a large tree bending in the background. The top half of the image is mostly dark rainy sky with tree branches. Two small dogs are running alongside the children toward the house.

'Run!' yells Sister. The kids dart home. Girl is first, and Max runs as fast as he can. Dogs run in with them as well.

Page 8
On the right side of the image, Boy, Girl, and Sister are dancing joyfully on a plain white background, each holding a towel and drying off. Boy is at the upper right, mid-dance step with a happy expression, holding an orange towel against his chest. Girl is at the lower right, dancing energetically with a wide smile, swinging a red fringed towel over her head with one arm. Sister is at the center-left, dancing with a cheerful grin, waving a light blue towel. Several pairs of kicked-off shoes are scattered around them on the ground, and a pair of orange sandals sits near the bottom right. The scene is set indoors against a clean white background.

The kids are wet, wet, wet. They get cloths and dry off. 'I am the cloud man!' yells Max. Girl twirls her red cloth, and Sister whirls her cloth as well.

Page 9
On the left side of the image, the family is gathered in a living room. Boy stands barefoot with his mouth wide open singing enthusiastically, one arm raised and pointing upward. Sister dances barefoot with her arms outstretched, moving energetically. Girl stands barefoot between them, also with arms raised joyfully, appearing to sing along. Behind the children, Dad stands smiling and watching with delight, while Mom has her hands pressed together in front of her chest, smiling warmly with an expression of amused wonder. The scene is set indoors in a room with a wardrobe and a sideboard against a teal-colored wall, with a warm brown floor. The right ~40% of the image is open background space.

Mom and Dad are there. 'A cloud band sang up in the sky!' says Max, and he sings his best cloud song. 'And then a big storm came,' says Girl. 'What a story!' says Dad. Mom smiles and claps.

Page 10
On the right side of the image, Dad sits smiling and playing a djembe drum, while Boy crouches barefoot beside him banging on an overturned pot. Girl sits barefoot nearby hitting a small pan, one arm raised joyfully. Mom leaps gracefully in a dancing pose with arms outstretched, and Sister jumps barefoot energetically beside her, both looking happy and mid-motion. The background is a soft, plain light blue, with the left side (50%) open and clear of characters or detail.

Dad gets his drum. Bang, bang, bang! Max hits a pot, and Girl hits a pan. Clang, clang! Mom and Sister jump and twirl. They are the best band ever.

Page 11
On the left side of the image, Boy, Girl, and Sister lie sleeping peacefully on a bed with blue pillows and sheets, their eyes closed with calm, restful expressions. Boy is at the top of the bed lying on his stomach, Girl is in the middle curled on her side, and Sister is closest to the foreground resting on her back. A window on the upper left reveals a nighttime sky with moonlit clouds and trees outside a suburban American neighborhood. The room is bathed in soft, dark teal tones reflecting the nighttime setting. The right side of the image is plain dark background.

It is dark now, and all is still. Max, Girl and Sister rest in bed. Far up in the sky, the clouds are soft and silver. The cloud man rests up there as well.
