Skel and Bones trot on a path in the green land. Bones has a red band on his neck. He is a glad dog, and Skel is his best pal.
Bam! Crack! A big storm! Bones stands at a big log in the mud. He shivers and shivers, but Skel is with him.
Boom! Bones runs off in the rain. Skel shouts, but Bones runs on in the dark. He is just a black blot in the storm.
Skel seeks his dog on the wet land. He looks in a ditch, and he looks on the rocks. It is dark and damp, and Skel is very sad.
Back in the hut, Zom gets Skel a hot dish. Skel is too upset. He looks at the dish, and he just sits and sobs.
Zom grabs his coat and steps out in the dark. He must hunt for Bones. Skel rests, and soon he naps in the hut.
Bones is far, far from Skel. He creeps in a deep, dark wood. Then he sees three big wolves in the trees. Bones must not run.
Bones runs with the pack. He hunts, and he creeps, and he is quick. The pack lets him run with them, and Bones is glad to be a big dog.
His red band snags on a stick and drops off. Bones looks back at it, but the pack has no bands. He runs on and on with the wolves.
Zom spots Bones in a wood gap. He begs Bones to come back. But Bones drops flat and snarls, and his teeth flash. He acts mad, and Zom steps back.
Skel comes to the wood. He just stands and waits. Bones peeks out from a big oak trunk. He looks at Skel, and he feels a deep, deep wish. He must get back to his best pal.
Bones trots back with Skel on the path. Zom runs up with a snack, and Bones licks him! Bones wags and wags. He is with his pals, and that is best.
