May sits up in bed. 'Kit? Kit!' May calls. Kit is not on the bed. But peek! Sneaky Kit is beneath the bed.

May runs out to the path. 'Kit! Kit!' May yells and yells. But Kit sneaks by the wood screen. May can not see Kit.

May checks the big blue pot. Kit has a nap on this pot each day. But Kit is not on the pot. Kit sneaks by it. Sneaky cat!

May looks and looks by the pot. 'This is bad,' May says. 'This is so bad!' Kit is sneaking by the pot. May can not see Kit at all.

May has a hunt in the big shrub. 'Kit! Kit!' May yells. Kit is not in the shrub. Sneaky Kit is beneath the home.

'Mew!' A wee squeak! May runs to check. But sneaky Kit is up on the roof. May can not see Kit up there.

May bends by the wood case. May peeks in the gap. Dust and one lost sock, but no cat. Up top, Kit peeks at May. Sneaky Kit!

May steps up on the stool. May reaches up to check the top. No Kit up here! But peek! Kit is beneath the case.

May checks the bookshelf. May checks each book. No Kit. 'This is not easy,' May says. May flops in the seat. May is so sad.

Wait! May bends by the bed. May peeks beneath it. It is dark. It is empty. No Kit.

May stands and thinks. No Kit in the shrub. No Kit beneath the bed. No Kit at all! 'I need help,' May pleads. 'Mum! Mum!' Then May looks at the bed.

May lifts the bedspread. Kit! Kit is on the bed, all snug. 'Kit!' May yells. 'Sneaky, sneaky Kit!' May grins. Kit is safe at home.
