On the left side of the image, Big Sis lies confidently on a high tree branch, resting on her stomach with one arm dangling down and a calm, happy smile on her face. She has long, straight dark grey hair falling past her shoulders, a coral-pink headband with white cat ears, and wears a coral-pink sleeveless A-line dress. Below her, Little Brother hangs from a lower branch with both hands, legs swinging freely, with a wide-eyed, surprised expression as he tries to keep his grip. He wears an open red-orange hooded jacket over a light blue t-shirt, medium blue jeans, and dark navy sneakers with white soles. Green leaves drift through the air around them. The scene is set outdoors on a bright, sunny day with a blue sky, green tree foliage, and a grassy ground visible at the bottom. The right side of the image is plain white background.

My big sis is the best sis ever. She was way up high on a tall tree branch. One arm hung down, swinging back and forth. She hummed a happy song, like she did not have one worry. I grabbed the low branch with both hands and my legs kicked at the sky. 'How do you do that?' I yelled up at her.

Page 2
On the right side of the image, Big Sis stands on a large tree branch, smiling confidently as she holds up a toy aeroplane in one hand, looking up at it against the sky. Little Brother stands at the base of the tree below her, looking up at Big Sis with a happy, admiring expression. The scene is set outdoors on a sunny day, with lush green foliage surrounding the large tree. The left side of the image is plain white background, leaving space for text.

Big Sis stood right up on that branch, like it was a path and not a long way up in the sky. She held her toy plane up and squinted at it. 'Watch this,' she said. 'Best launch ever!' I watched from the bottom of the tree, and I said to myself, one day I will be just like her.

Page 3
On the left side of the image, Dog lies on the ground with a startled, dazed expression, with a crashed toy aeroplane broken apart into pieces and scattered red propeller parts around it. A dotted arc line in the sky above suggests the looping flight path the plane took before crashing down. The right side of the image is plain white background.

The plane went up, up, up... then sideways... then way, way down to the ground. Crash! It hit the dirt and red bits went flying all around. And right in the middle of the mess sat our dog, Rex. He looked dizzy and dazed, like he did not know what hit him.

Page 4
On the right side of the image, Dog stands in the centre-right, barking with mouth wide open and a determined expression, facing toward a large tree. Big Sis leans against the base of the tree on the far right, looking down at Dog with a confident, unfazed expression and her arms crossed. Little Brother is perched up in the branches of the tree above, peeking down with a worried or uncertain expression. A toy aeroplane lies on the ground between Dog and the tree. The scene is set outdoors in a sunny suburban yard with green grass, bushes, and a clear blue sky.

Rex was angry. He jumped up and barked his biggest, loudest bark, the kind that says, I will remember this! I grabbed the tree tighter and my knees went shaky. But Big Sis just leaned on the trunk with her arms crossed. 'Hush, Rex,' she said. 'It did not hurt you.' Nothing scares Big Sis.

Page 5
In the lower-left portion of the image, Big Sis is kneeling on the ground, leaning forward with a focused expression as she digs in the soil with a small garden tool. Little Brother sits beside her on the ground, looking up with a curious, wide-eyed expression. Behind them, Dog is leaping energetically into the air, tugging on a long rope with its mouth. The scene is set outdoors on a bright, sunny day in a yard or garden area with green trees lining the horizon and a light blue sky with stylised swirling clouds above.

'I need wood and glue and string,' Big Sis said. She got on her knees and dug in the dirt with a little spade. I sat next to her and watched. I did not know what to dig for. Behind us, Rex found a rope and jumped up high, shaking it like crazy. No one ever tells Rex to stop.

Page 6
On the right side of the image, Big Sis stands confidently, leaning forward with a warm smile as she reaches out to pet Dog on the head. Dog sits happily in front of her, looking content with a wagging tail and its red collar visible. Little Brother stands just behind Big Sis, clutching her arm nervously with a worried, uncertain expression on his face, clearly less comfortable around Dog. The scene is set outdoors on a sunny day along a dirt path with green bushes, a tree branch overhead, and a clear sky with soft clouds. The left side of the image is plain white background.

On the way back, Big Sis stopped to pat Rex on the head. 'No hard feelings, right?' Rex wagged his tail happily, so hard his back end shook. I held on to Big Sis's arm, but Rex's mouth was very big, very wet, and very close to my face. 'He likes you,' Big Sis said. 'He likes eating me,' I whispered.

Page 7
On the left side of the image, Big Sis is tumbling forward onto the ground with a shocked, open-mouthed expression, her arms splayed out as she falls into a patch of dirt and scattered leaves. Little Brother is toppling over her back with a surprised expression, arms flung upward. Dog stands nearby on the right of the group, looking at them with a curious, slightly concerned expression. The outdoor scene is set on a grassy path under a pale blue sky with wispy clouds, with green leaves shaking loose from a nearby tree and drifting through the air. The right side of the image is plain white background.

Then Big Sis caught her foot on a root and... whoops! Down she went, and because I was holding her arm, down I went too. We rolled in the dirt while Rex stood there watching us like we were the silliest kids ever. But Big Sis did not cry, not even one tiny bit.

Page 8
On the right side of the image, Big Sis stands on a dirt path holding a damaged toy aeroplane up in one hand with a determined expression, examining it closely. Little Brother stands just behind and to her right, looking up at the plane with a worried or curious expression. The scene is set outdoors on a sunny day along a path lined with green trees and bushes, in what resembles a suburban park or neighbourhood trail. The left side of the image is plain white background.

She got right back up, brushed off her dress, and picked up the broken plane. She squinted at the cracked wing and tapped it twice. 'We can fix this,' she said. 'Wood, glue, good as new.' I had a scratch on my elbow and a leaf in my ear, and I wanted to cry just a little bit. But if Big Sis was not crying, then I was not crying.

Page 9
On the left side of the image, Big Sis stands at a kitchen counter with a cheerful, determined expression, stirring the contents of a bowl with a large spoon. Little Brother sits nearby at a small table, watching her with a slightly worried or uncertain expression and a small pout on his face. The scene is set indoors in a cosy kitchen with warm lighting, patterned tiles, and shelves visible in the background. The right side of the image is plain pink background with no detail.

Mum was not home yet, and my tummy was rumbling like a stormy sky. 'I will cook,' Big Sis said, pulling a big book off the shelf and slapping it open on the counter. 'Mum's stew. So easy.' I sat at my little table and watched her, thinking that Big Sis can do it all: climb trees, fix planes, cook stew, even fight a dragon.

Page 10
On the right side of the image, Little Brother peeks over the edge of a kitchen counter, with just his eyes and hands visible, looking up with a concerned, worried expression. He is watching Big Sis, who stands at the counter chopping onions on a cutting board — her eyes are teary and her expression looks sad. The scene is set indoors in a bright kitchen with tiled flooring and green curtains visible in the background. The left side of the image is plain white background.

I put one foot on the stool and peeked over the counter. Then I saw something that could not be real: Big Sis had wet eyes, and drops rolled down her face! My mouth fell open. My big sis, the bravest kid ever, was crying?

Page 11
On the left side of the image, Little Brother is shown from the chest up with a thoughtful expression, resting a finger on his chin and looking upward as if remembering. Three circular thought bubbles float above and to the left of him, each depicting a memory of Big Sis: in one she is lying confidently on a tree branch, in another she is reaching out to pet Dog with a brave face, and in the third she is tumbling to the ground from her fall with a surprised expression. The background is a green-striped wallpaper pattern, with the right side left as plain open space.

It made no sense, so I put my thinking finger on my chin. Big Sis did not cry when she was way up on that high branch. Big Sis did not cry when Rex barked his noisiest bark. Big Sis did not even cry when she fell flat on her face in the dirt! So why would Big Sis cry now?

Page 12
On the right side of the image, Big Sis stands behind a kitchen counter with a gentle, knowing smile, looking down at a halved onion on the counter. Little Brother leans in from the right, peering closely at the cut onion with a surprised, open-mouthed expression, his face near the counter surface. A whole onion and its sliced half sit on the green countertop, with green-striped wallpaper in the background indicating an indoor kitchen setting. The left side of the image is plain white background.

I crept closer... closer... closer. Big Sis looked down, grinned, and held up half an onion. 'Onions,' she said with a shrug. I laughed so hard I almost fell off the stool. Big Sis does not cry, not if she fell off a hill, not if a dragon bit her toe, not even if the moon came crashing down. Big Sis never cries!
