Not Again, Dr. Can Do! UFLI Foundations Lesson 71
Practice Words
Dr. Can Do stands in his lab. What a mess! Junk is in piles, wall to wall. 'I pledge to fix this mess,' he says. 'I pledge to fix it all!'
He packs the junk in batches. He crams it all into the chests. He shuts the last latch with a click. The lab looks fresh and nice. 'Well, well!' he says with a grin.
But look at all this stone! Piles and piles of stone fill the racks. He makes a face. His lip twitches. 'This stone must go,' he says. 'But where?'
Dr. Can Do rides his minecart on the track. He pitches the stone into a hot lava pit. It is so hot! 'I will not ride to this pit,' he says. 'Not me! I have a plan.'
Back in his lab, he sketches his big plan. He looks at the redstone and grins. 'A chest, redstone, and a pit of lava!' he says. 'It will toss my junk into the lava for me!'
He makes it fast. He sets the redstone in a line. Then he wedges thick black blocks on the lava pit. It is safe and solid. No one will fall in!
Dr. Can Do looks at his lab. Space, space, space! 'No minecart rides for me! This is topnotch!' he says with a big grin. 'I am the best!'
But then the mess is back! Red dust and rocks fill the lab. He looks glum. 'No! Not this!' he says. 'I must fetch help to fix this mess.'
