No Shade in the Sand UFLI Foundations Lesson 59
Practice Words
Look at all the sand. The sun shines on the vast land. Small plants dot the sand, and the dunes go on and on.
The sun blazes on the sand. A lot of desert life hides in the shade. The husk stands still in the hot sun.
Where can you get water in the desert? There are no lakes at all. Make a plan, then take a long trek on the sand.
Desert life is wise. Mobs doze in the shade of a tall plant. They sit still and rest while the sun shines.
Sand is on all sides, mile after mile. It all looks the same, so you could get lost. Take a map when you go.
The sun sets and a chill hits the desert, quick. Camel stands close to the hot rock. The hot rock shines at dusk, and the chill fades.
The desert hides fine things. There is shade by the big plant, and a pit with pale stone. Take time to poke and probe in the sand.
Deserts do not get wet. No drops fall for a long, long time. Plants and mobs save up water inside.
We make homes in the desert. The sand homes have plants close by. It is a fine spot to live.
Deserts can get wide and take up land. The grass fades and the sand slides in. We can plant big plants to save the land.
