Do Not Drop That Prize! UFLI Foundations Lesson 55
Practice Words
It is mango time! The big plant is full of ripe mangoes. Dog and I look up and smile. We like this a lot.
I walk with a big fat sack. I do not slip or trip. Tess grips a ripe mango like it is a prize.
Max is up in the plant. He picks a lot at a time. A mango slips and falls! 'Don't drop that mango, Max!' yells Gran with a smile.
Gran cuts up the ripe mango and we dine in the shade. Max takes a big bite. Drip, drip, drip! I suck the pit and smile at Gran.
A lad rides up with a wide grin. 'Can I help?' he yells. 'Yes!' says Gran. 'We can all help.'
I am up in the plant. I let ripe mangoes glide to the lad on a line. He grips them all. Not a bump! Tess and Max stack a pile on the blanket.
Dad drives us to the stall. We stack a big pile in the shade. A man picks up the best of the lot. 'This is fine and ripe,' he says. 'I will take ten!'
Then we glide on the tide to sell the rest. Max stands up and we rock! 'Sit, Max!' I yell. 'Don't drop that mango!' yells a man with a grin.
At last we rest up in the big plant. Tess naps up top and Max is still. What a fine life! Dog and I smile wide in the sunshine.
