Create a single full-page children's book illustration. Use the attached character reference images and match each named character exactly β€” same shapes, colours and clothing; do not redesign them. SCENE: Leopard (match attached reference) presses Anansi (match attached reference) flat into dusty red earth with one paw while four of Anansi’s legs wiggle out. They are in tall grass, and Anansi wears a rumpled garment. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed toward the RIGHT. Keep the LEFT 50% text area genuinely open β€” plain, continuous background with NO characters, objects, props, hanging items, plants, patterns or decorations in it β€” while the rest of the scene fills the frame naturally. That LEFT 50% text area must be the SAME continuous background colour as the scene (not a flat panel, not a different shade, no dividing line). Do NOT shrink or squash the characters. Book text will be overlaid in the LEFT 50% text area. Do not include any written text, letters, numbers, captions, speech bubbles, signs, labels, logos, or watermarks anywhere; the image must be purely illustrative.

One day Anansi walks in the tall grass. He thinks of yams, so he does not look where he steps. A big foot with spots drops on his back. It pushes Anansi flat in the red dirt, and his legs wag.

SCENE: Anansi (match attached reference) lands crumpled in a rocky den. Leopard (match attached reference) blocks the entrance, then pads away. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed toward the LEFT. Keep the RIGHT 50% text area genuinely open β€” plain, continuous background with NO characters, objects, props, hanging items, plants, patterns or decorations in it β€” while the rest of the scene fills the frame naturally. That RIGHT 50% text area must be the SAME continuous background colour as the scene (not a flat panel, not a different shade, no dividing line). Do NOT shrink or squash the characters. 'Anansi,' says Leopard in a slow tone. 'Anansi took my fish. Anansi ate my yams. Anansi told all the woods that I yell like an old man.' Leopard leans in close. 'I will eat Anansi. But not yet. I must hunt. I will eat Anansi when the sun sinks.' He puts Anansi in his rocky den.

SCENE: Anansi (match attached reference) inside a dim den peers toward the escape gap, then pulls back to think. The narrow rock entrance is blocked by Leopard (match attached reference), with one half-closed eye filling the gap. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed in the lower part of the frame. Keep the TOP 50% text area genuinely open β€” plain, continuous background with NO characters, objects, props, hanging items, plants, patterns or decorations in it β€” while the rest of the scene fills the frame naturally. That TOP 50% text area must be the SAME continuous background colour as the scene (not a flat panel, not a different shade, no dividing line). Do NOT shrink or squash the characters. Do not include any written text, letters, numbers, captions, speech bubbles, signs, labels, logos, or watermarks anywhere; the image must be purely illustrative.

Anansi looks all over the den. The walls are hard rock. The exit is a thin gap. If Leopard can push past it, small Anansi can. But Leopard sits in the gap like a big door with spots. Anansi calls. Leopard sits still.

SCENE: Anansi (match attached reference) crouches in a rocky den by a crack in the wall, clutching the selim-pepper bundle (match attached reference). Wavy scent wisps rise from it and make his eyes water. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed toward the RIGHT. Anansi looks in a crack in the rock. He finds a bag of spice. He sniffs it. Very good spice! The smell is so strong it stings his nose. He picks it up and grins. Anansi has a plan.

Anansi calls again. This time his tone is not glad. It is the flat tone of a good cook at work. 'Big Leopard,' says Anansi, 'that meat needs help.' Leopard turns to look. 'Leopard got a spider, but has no spice. Plain spider is bad. Even a king adds spice to his meat.' The big tail flicks.

SCENE: Anansi (match attached reference) sends gold aroma wisps from the selim-pepper bundle (match attached reference) toward the entrance. Leopard (match attached reference) sniffs with flared nostrils, softened eyes, and an irritated lashing tail. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed in the lower part of the frame. Leopard looks back. 'I eat what I catch,' he says. 'I am a leopard.' 'Yes,' says Anansi, 'but that is why they say Leopard can hunt but can not cook.' Leopard lashes his tail. Leopard likes his good name best of all. Anansi lets the spice smell drift to the gap, and Leopard sniffs.

SCENE: Leopard (match attached reference) and Anansi (match attached reference) face each other in Leopard’s den, with Anansi folding four legs behind his back innocently while Leopard squints suspiciously. A tempting selim pepper bundle sits on the den floor between them. Leopard stands up. 'A spice tree grows three hills north,' he says. 'I can find it.' He looks at Anansi. 'Anansi wants to trick me and make me go.' 'Leopard sees all,' says Anansi. 'Fine. Plain spider it is. But this is the first spider in a long time. It can be so good.' Anansi sighs. Leopard stands still and thinks.

SCENE: Leopard (match attached reference) heads north through tall golden grass, disappearing. Inside the den, Anansi (match attached reference) studies the flimsy old silk stretched across the entrance like a master weaver judging poor work. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed toward the LEFT. 'I will go north, but first I will block the gap,' says Leopard. 'No exit for Anansi!' He pulls a bunch of old silk from a nook and puts it on the gap. Then he pads north. Anansi waits till the spots go into the bushes. Then he looks at the silk and grins. He has spun webs far better than that.

SCENE: Anansi (match attached reference) works outside the den entrance, using his legs to spin Anansi's entrance web (match attached reference), near-invisible across the gap. The selim-pepper bundle (match attached reference; tucked deep inside a crack in the den wall) remains hidden, and fine web threads stretch across the entrance. Anansi slips past the gap fast. But he does not run yet. He takes the bag of spice and tucks it deep in the rock crack, where Leopard will not look for a long time. Then he spins his best web on the gap, so thin and fine the sun will not show it. He hums as he works.

SCENE: Anansi (match attached reference) swings fast through the forest canopy on a silk thread, legs tucked up. Far below, Leopard (match attached reference) crashes through broken undergrowth in pursuit, visible beneath the trees. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed toward the RIGHT. Then Anansi runs. He runs in the woods, swinging on his silk from tree to tree. He is almost to the village when Leopard crashes back past the bushes. Leopard did not find a spice tree. There is no spice tree three hills north. There is none at all. It is all a trick.

SCENE: Leopard (match attached reference; Gossamer-fine spider silk is tangled tightly around his nose, ears, and paws.) roars. Anansi's entrance web (match attached reference; stretched into a tangled mass around Leopard's nose, ears, and paws) holds him tangled. In the distance, Anansi (match attached reference) leans grinning against carved wooden village boundary posts. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed toward the LEFT. Leopard hits the web at full speed and sticks fast. The fine silk grabs his nose and his legs in a big tangle. Leopard yells. He rolls. But the web holds. Anansi drops from the last tree and gets to the village edge, where Leopard will not go. 'Even a king adds spice to his meat!' Anansi calls back. 'Wait a bit. It helps the taste!'

SCENE: Anansi (match attached reference) sits at a low carved table in the village square, eating steaming orange palm-nut soup. A laughing village cook in a T-shirt and apron with kente-pattern trim ladles more soup while children crowd around, with a small jar of selim pepper on the table. COMPOSITION: Compose ONE full-bleed scene with a single continuous background that fills the whole image, characters at natural size placed in the lower part of the frame. Anansi sits in the village and eats three hot dishes with spice. The glad cook fills his dish again and again. Anansi grins as he eats. From that day, Leopard looks in every den before a nap. And cooks in the woods still say it when they reach for the spice: even a king adds spice to his meat. But they always wink.
