Jojo has no crew of mates. He sees a boy on the field.

He kicks the ball to the boy. He bumps it with his chest.

He is so fast! Jojo has long legs, but he finds it hard to keep up.

The boy can shift the ball from foot to foot with ease.

Jojo tries to talk to the boy a few times, but he does not hear him.
Page 6
The boy threw a hard kick, and the ball is off.

The boy goes to get it. Oh no! A bike is on the road!

Jojo yanks the boy off the road just in time.
Page 9
Now he gets why the boy did not talk. He cannot hear.

The boy shows Jojo his name. He signs it to him as well.

Jojo spells his name in the dirt so that Fafa can see it.

It has been a big day, but they are each glad to have a new pal.
