The Good Lamp (Soft c)

Cam lives in a rural community far from the city. They don't even have electric lights yet.

So when it gets dark, Cam takes a little candle lamp with him. Look out frogs! The hunter has illumination.

When it gets dark, the only way Cam can do his homework is by the light of his wonderful little lamp.

He is careful to blow it out when he goes to bed each night.

Cam sleeps well, knowing that tomorrow he will have his good little lamp at night for visibility.

Finally, electricity was put in to the village. The illumination was so bright that it seemed like it was still day inside Cam's little hut.

They make the room seem like it is day time.

Cam didn't need the little lantern anymore. It sat, neglected and cold on the floor.

The little lamp thought it must be faulty because Cam no longer lit the flame inside it's glass case.

But, the area Cam lived in often experienced destructive storms. One night, lightning struck the power lines and the electric lamps all went out.

Cam searched in the dark until he found his dependable little lamp with the stub of candle inside.

What a good little lamp, lighting the gloomy night for Cam, even when the power was out.
