The next morning I wake with a feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach. I can’t remember why until I see the emerald with all my things. It felt like I only glanced at it, but the growl in my empty belly warns me that I’ve been staring at the cursed emerald again and a good part of the morning has been wasted.
