It is three o'clock in Animal Town. The school bell is ringing. All the mums and dads rush to pick up their kids.
Mama Bear is running as fast as she can. She does not want to be late to get Baby Bear. But she is not that fast.
Class time is over. Baby Bear goes outside. Mama Bear keeps running. But she is late.
Baby Bear is standing outside with his teacher. Every other mum or dad has come. But not Mama Bear. She is late.
All the other mums and dads have bikes. Mama Bear comes to get Baby Bear, but he has been waiting a long time. 'Sorry, Baby Bear,' she says, 'I was too slow.'
'Maybe you need a bike,' says Baby Bear. 'Why would I be getting a bike?' says Mama Bear, 'I don't know how to ride one.'
Mama Bear keeps thinking for a long time. 'Okay,' she says, 'I need to get a bike. Then I need to learn how to get one.' 'But where will you get a bike from?' asks Baby Bear.
'I will ask Orange. He has a lot of bikes,' Mama Bear says. Later that day, after asking Orange, Mama is the brand new owner of a nice red bike. 'Try and ride it, Mama Bear!' says Baby Bear.
Mama Bear tries riding around slowly at first, not sure if she is doing it right. It takes her a few tries, but she gets better and better each time. All the animals who see her wave and clap at her as she goes by.
Soon she is riding fast down the road. Baby Bear is so proud of her. 'You can ride, Mama! You can really ride!'
Every morning, Mama Bear takes Baby Bear to school. They ride the bike, making sure to ride safely. But they are fast.
Mama Bear is so fast that Baby Bear is the first kid at school to get there. Baby Bear is also the first kid at school to leave! Mama Bear is never late again.
