Mine carts on rails are a very quick way to get to a space you use a lot, which is a little way from your home base. A powered mine cart line takes a bit of time and resources to set up, but is well worth the time and effort. In survival mode, you will need to mine, mine, mine and chop, chop, chop to get what you need.
