All of Us (Compound Words)
Practice Words
Two-syllable compound words formed by joining two smaller words together.
Every day is a trial in my house. There are so many of us living here and not much room.
Here are some photos of all of us. There is Grandma and Pa, me and my cat, my aunt, my uncle, the baby, and mum and dad.
It's not fair! There are so many people living here that I have no room to play.
I should have lots of room to run and play and jump around with my cat.
But every time I do that, I cause a riot. I end up tangled in things and under people's feet.
They all get mad at me, and I cry that it's not my fault. I wish it was just me in the house and that I had all the room and could make all the noise I like.
Then one day, I woke up, and it seemed my wish had been granted! There was no one around. No Grandma or Pa. No aunt, no uncle. Just me and my cat.
We were free to run around and create as much noise as we liked. So we sang at the top of our voice.
Then all of a sudden, a storm blew in to ruin our fun. It got dark, and the booms of thunder made me cover my ears.
But it was just what I needed, the rain brought them all back home. In came Grandma and Pa and Mum with the baby. Not long after that my aunt, uncle and dad are rushing in. I am so glad that all of us live in this house.
