The Little Fish Goes Deep (Suffix)

One morning, a little fish and his mother were swimming in the shallow sea. They did this every day, and kept away from the deep water. But the little fish wanted to explore. 'Mummy, can we go to the deep part today?' asked the little fish.

'No,' said his mother. 'But I will be careful!' said the little fish. 'No means no, little fish!' said his mother. 'There is too much danger down there, it is not safe!'

But the little fish did not listen. As soon as his mother's back was turned, he swam for the deep sea. 'Wow, there is so much cool stuff down here!' he said. The little fish saw colors and other types of fish he had never seen before.

Just then, the little fish saw something a little way away. 'What is that dark boulder?' he said. He started to swim toward it. As he got closer, it looked more and more like...

...a big, mean, sleeping fish! But it was not sleeping any more. 'How dare you wake me up, little fish!' it yelled. 'Now you will be my breakfast!'

The little fish swam as fast as he could. But the big mean fish was faster. The little fish looked for somewhere to hide. There, a gap in some rocks!

The little fish squeezed into the hole. 'You think you are safe from me in there?' said the mean fish. The mean fish swam around and around. The water began to swirl, and the little fish was pulled from the hole!

The little fish tried swimming fast again. But it was too late. Just as the mean fish was about to eat him, he cried out. 'Mummy! Help me!'

And here she came! At the last second, his mother came and pulled him away! 'Stay away from my son,' she yelled at the mean fish. The mean fish was too shocked to reply!

The little fish looked ashamed. 'I am sorry for swimming to the deep water,' he said. 'One day you will be big, and you could explore it,' said his mother. 'But today, you are still my little fish!'
