Girl of the Forest

This is my hut. Can you see the grass on the roof?

My mum and dad go to find food. They will pick it from the trees.

I see a white deer. It wants me to come with it.

It runs off. We chase it into the trees.

I see a pangolin. It eats ants from the log.

And here is a bear. It licks a sweet treat.

Then we see an elephant. She has such a long trunk.

It is wet. We hide in a cave to keep dry.

When it gets dark, I try to find my hut in the gloom. I am not sure where to go.

My pals can find it. They take me there.

I thank them and wish them well.

We all live in the forest. It is our home.
