Cod

Here are some cod. They swim in the bay.

The cod can see us. It is off! It swims to a spot where it can hide.

We do not have a rod or a net. It will be hard to catch this cod.

Here is Steve. He has no rod. He has no net. Can he get the cod?

Steve jumps in! The cod hid in a log. Steve will have to dive deep down.

He gets to where the cod was, but it fled. He stays still so he can watch.

There! The cod is in the kelp that sways with the waves.

Steve got to the patch of sand where the cod was, but the cod is gone!

Steve gets out. It is too hard to catch a cod with no tools. But what is this?

It is a pail. Steve can use the pail to scoop up the fish from the sea.

He sits by the water with his pail and waits for the cod to come up close.

With a quick scoop, Steve grabs a fish! Time to eat.
